Upcoming Author Visits:
3) Author Visit! Helen F. James writer of "S is for S'mores: A Camping Alphabet" and "E is for Enchantment: A New Mexico Alphabet", they will be available for purchase at a special price of $10 (including tax). Helen F. James will read from her books, answer any questions, and sign autographs! Wednesday, May 14th at 3p.m.
4) Author Visit. Meet and Great Dr. TEA, author of the Ultimate Tea Diet. Learn the differences between different types of teas, how to properly brew tea, cook with tea rubs, and the ffect of tea on the metabolism. Tuesday, May 27, 6:00 p.m.
5) Author Visit: Ruth Todd Evans. Author/Illustrator of The Panda Who Would Not Eat. The first male panda bear in the San Diego Zoo’s Giant Panda Conservation program had a problem—he didn’t like the food he was given at the Zoo. The panda didn’t like the bamboo grown at the zoo and preferred one species of bamboo which grows at Quail Botanical Gardens. The true story of Shi Shi, the picky panda, is the basis of a new children’s book “The Panda Who Wouldn’t Eat” by Ruth Todd Evans, M.D, and published in cooperation with Quail Botanical Gardens and the San Diego Zoo. Books for sale for $10 tax included. Come meet Ruth and hear about Shi Shi. Thursday, June 5, 3pm.
6) Author Visit: Linda Meckler. Ghost Kids Trilogy. Three complete books in one. Two real children Christy, 12 and her brother Brad, 16 move into an old house on the top of a mountain and meet two Ghost Kids. Get involved with the family and their many adventures. Books will be available sale from the author. Come by and learn more and ask questions. Thursday, July 17, 12:30 p.m.
7) Author Visit: Don Borchert “In this new memoir, Free for All Southern California librarian Don Borchert lets us in on a little secret: It’s a strange place to work…You keep reading because: (1) he’s hilarious, and (2) it’s uncharted territory.” - Jack Boulware, San Francisco Chronicle. Don Borchert is the author of Free for All: Oddballs, Geeks and Ganstas in the Public Library. He was a short-order cook, door-to-door salesman, telemarketer, and Christmas-tree-chopper before landing a job in a California library. Saturday, August 30, 3:30 p.m.
